Pocket Fren Reserve

Meet Pocket Fren.

A little presence. Always with you.

Pocket Fren in Pebble, straight on: a warm stone shell with a braided lanyard, and its face on the screen

Shown in Pebble. Design concept; final hardware may vary.

Pocket Fren is a small companion with a creature living behind the glass. It keeps your people close, keeps you on task, and has opinions about both. Carry it around. It notices.

All the way around

  1. Made to be carried.

Soft corners all the way round, a braided lanyard, and USB-C on the bottom edge for charging.

  2. Just as calm from behind.

A seamless grained back, the coral button where your thumb lands, and two small screws. Nothing else to fiddle with.

What's on the display

  1. It looks back.

A face on true black, with moods you'll learn to read. Pleased to see you, mostly.

  2. Your circle, close by.

Pocket Frens find each other over Bluetooth. Meet up and they notice, even with your phone in your pocket. Tap Say hi and you're friends.

  3. Small gestures, delivered.

Send a wave, a hug, a high five or a zap. Leave a note of up to 120 characters, read out loud if they like that sort of thing.

  4. Focus, with company.

Start a session and your Fren sits with you until the ring closes. Rituals, timers and reminders live here too.

  5. Muse, at the press of a button.

Hold the button and ask. Give it a bigger job and walk away. It checks with you before it does anything on your behalf.

  6. And a creature of its own.

Behind the glass lives a Fren, in a world that keeps your local time, turns with the seasons, and rains when it rains outside.

Made to be touched.

The details you only notice when it's in your hand.

One finish. Pebble.

Pebble

Warm stone, soft to the touch, with a coral button you'll press for no reason.

Goes where you go.

Small enough for one hand, a pocket or the bottom of a bag. Loud only when it has something worth saying.

A small device with a full life.

A world that keeps your time.

Land, Water or Sky. Day turns to dusk on your schedule, the seasons change, and it dresses up for Halloween, the winter holidays, New Year and Valentine's.

Sleepovers, with souvenirs.

Your Fren can spend three hours in a friend's world. It comes home with something, unless you call it back early.

Needs you. Not too much.

Feed it, tidy up, turn the lights off at bedtime. It never dies and never guilt-trips. Ignore it and it wanders off to a friend's world until you check in.

On your Lock Screen, too.

Widgets and Live Activities on iPhone, in the Dynamic Island. Widgets and Live Updates on Android.

Rituals that stick.

A morning briefing read out loud, a word of the day, an evening wind-down. Pick the time and the days, or write your own.

Ask Muse.

Plan a Saturday in Lisbon for two.

It hears you while you hold the button. Let go and it stops.

Give one. Keep the friend.

Gift a Pocket Fren from the app with a card or a link. When they open it, it moves to their account, and you're friends already.

A weekly challenge.

One shared goal for your circle, like sixty chats with Muse between you. Finish it together and see what happens.

The app, just as calm.

Your Fren, its world and your friends' worlds, on iPhone and Android. No feeds to scroll, no badges to clear.

  1. A planet of your own.

Every world is an island. Turn it with a finger, tap one, and the camera flies in to your Fren.

  2. Close up, it's all there.

How it's doing, what it needs, where it's been. One button for the thing that matters now.

  3. Without opening anything.

Widgets for the Home and Lock Screens, and a Live Activity while your Fren is away.

Every Fren starts as an egg.

Hatch it and name it. It levels up from real life: a chat with Muse, a finished focus session, a ritual kept, a friend met. At level five it becomes one of forty-four animals, in a form shaped by where it lives and how you've treated it. After that, it grows into its finish: glazed, then frosted glass, then brushed metal.

Four originals. Forty-four animals.

Eight materials, from bone to plum, a pile of ears, tails and coats, and now and then a rare one: speckled, marbled, terrazzo or lustre. Yours won't look quite like anybody else's.

Questions

How much will it cost?

We'll announce the price soon. Reserving is free and doesn't commit you to buying anything. We'll email you before orders open.

What does reserving actually do?

It tells us you want one (up to three), and where you are, so we know how many to make and where to ship. You confirm by email, and you can cancel any time from the link in that email.

Is that what it will look like?

The photos on this page show a design concept, in Pebble with a rounded-square screen. The shell, screen, components and dimensions may change before it ships.

Who is it for?

Grown-ups. It's a companion for focus, rituals and keeping in touch with friends, with an AI assistant inside. Reservations are for people 18 and over.

Does it listen all the time?

No. Muse hears you while you hold the button. Let go and it stops.

Can my Fren die?

No. Ignore yours and its mood sinks, then it wanders off to your friends' worlds until you check in. Embarrassing, but fixable.

Do I need a phone?

Yes. You set it up with the Pocket Frens app on iPhone or Android, which also gets it onto your Wi-Fi. During setup you pair it once with the Muse app so Muse can talk through it.

Can I give one as a present?

Yes. Reserve up to three, and gift them from the app once they arrive.

What do you do with my email?

We use it to confirm your reservation and to tell you when orders open. Product news only if you tick the box. The privacy notice has the details.

Reserve yours.

Free, no payment, no commitment. We'll email you to confirm, and again before orders open. Price announced soon.
